Fairfield, Australia’s Graffiti Bill Hits $700,000

Harrison Bohrman | News | Monday, July 6th, 2009

Fairfield Council spent $700,000 on tackling graffiti in the last two years.

In 2006, the council began a program to coat amenity buildings at sporting fields and parks with a graffiti-resistant coating.

They are inspected fortnightly and any graffiti found is removed.

In 2007, council-owned bus shelters were added to the program.

It allocated $55,000 in 2008 for removing graffiti from private property visible from public spaces.
